Lady in Satin (1958) - Billie Holiday

Uau, Billie Holiday had such a mature voice and a sadness that you almost feel sorry for being happy. She was a great interpreter and she would get her emotions pass through her body and make your guts move in sinc with her's. She was struggling to bit her own "demons" by the time of this album and although all songs sound alike, this is a masterpiece that opened the doors for single female musicians such as Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse. I personally couldn't listen to it for too long.
